SKIN-IT!
So yeah…I worked on this $ gig for T-Mobile last night in the Lower (LES). I never expected this sort of event to be dead center in our peoples hood. Puerto Rican flags in the summer breeze, a bunch of triple X T’s drying on the firescapes, and mami’s plants blooming with flowers. Then again all them condos are creeping in everywhere you look making it feel “cool” to host this type of establishment on this side of town. Sigh…New York an ever changing landscape. So anyway, I didn’t really know what to expect, I was just ready to throw down, collect my dough, and call it a night. I get there and I was like WORD! set up was tight. I dig professionalism, that’s corporate $ for ya. Damn the food was off the hook! shumai, noodle soups, spring rolls, dumplings, yum! big ups to the caterers for hooking up my dinner for the evening. Peeps rolled thru, and got first dibs on all the free shit; food, drinks, sidekicks, custom skatedecks, Kidrobot Munny’s, T-Shirts, and a time to shine on the green screen. That was a lot of fun actually. Shout out the fellas who put on an excellent freestyle dance sequence just for fun. That shit was GREAT!!! Vee and I were rolling…Okay folks just felt like writing more than usual today. Here’s the T-Mobile / Skin-It! action in full effect…

ESTILO HIP HOP:
Directed by Loira Limbal & Vee Bravo
Chronicling the emergence of hip hop in Brazil, Chile, and Cuba, Estilo Hip Hop examines the regional politics that underscore the growth of hip hop’s global appeal. Against a backdrop of breathtaking landscapes are three hip hop enthusiasts, Guerrillero Okulto, Eli Efi and Magia, who all believe the music of the people can change the world. As “Estilo Hip Hop” delves into their lives, the film explores the movements they lead in hip hop and the personal price they must pay because of their political stances.
Estilo Hip Hop will is scheduled for national television broadcast on PBS in March of 2009.
