WE B*GIRLZ FESTIVAL

The We B*Girlz Festival is a multimedia Festival by women for women celebrating the 4 elements of Hip Hop and more. We B*Girlz wants to present a strong role model for adolescent girls. We B*Girlz Productionz wants to show that women mastered skills in all aspects of Hip Hop and have earned a place in Hip Hop history. We will celebrate their creativity with a one month festival in August 2008 in Berlin. Our intention is to provide a platform for girls and young women from different nations and cultural backgrounds to make contacts, exchange ideas, and support each other. We want to teach them new skills, strengthen their confidence and show them the accomplishments of women in all aspects of Hip Hop culture. Within 4 weeks in August 2008, the We B*Girlz Festival will provide the girls with tools to be creative in the different aspects of Hip Hop culture, and will also teach them how to document their own culture through workshops in video editing, photography, and web design etc. During the 4 weeks in August, we will not only have lots of workshops, but also exhibitions, concerts, club nights, a filmfestival etc. We will produce a compilation with female artists, a magazine and a DVD. The event series will close with a big festival with battles, shows and a concert on the last weekend in August. We hope to see y’all in Berlin!!!

I’ve been compiling a bunch of stuff I really digg, most of it you find on other sites/blogs but I figured I should archive them as well so I can bring them back months later so people don’t forget about them…

This flick is especially dear to me because it takes place in Queens. The shots are beautiful to look at, big ups to the photographer involved. Brings me back to the good old days growing up here, it looks, and feels exactly like it. I’m especially proud of the STEREOBIKE CREW youth who set up shop and came up with something mad “ORIGINAL”. Made in Queens baby! OMG where can I get a T-Shirt that says that…

this weekend we celebrated our homie’s cumplaños with some good ass BBQ food, and a walk through the west side of Central Park. The weather couldn’t have been better, y la compania even more so;) We got laughs for days when we get together. Gotta enjoy the good people around you any chance you get. Now we’re gonna get ready for the lake trip! Last month of summer folks enjoy it while it’s still here!!!

Finally! whew that took a while…I finally figured out how to put a YOUTUBE Video on here. Sure took me a while to figure it out, and searching online for the HOW TO ON WORDPRESS…anyway. Better late than never… Here’s the chosen few Ron English, Tara Mc Phearson, and Toofly rocking my lemon yellow sunshine T;) Now I just gotta figure out how to expand it to line up with everything…Crap, I’m a nut when shit’s not aligned drives me crazy!
