OMG IT’S NEXT FRIDAY!!!
We have been preparing for this exhibit for like an entire year people…I know crazy long! It takes mad work to put together a “TIGHT” exhibition on an independent level with like no loot, a day job, side gigs, personal life, etc, etc…It’s no easy task. It takes a lot of effort to organize something you care about. The collective has grown to 60 amazing women artists from various backgrounds representing their own individual stylez, ideaz, and skillz. Their work is DOPE!!! this year’s Heart & Soul is a labor of love. Something that flowed and manifested organically. We are extremely proud of this exhibition and hope you get a chance to experience it on opening day. October 17th! Mark your calendars. Don’t forget to cop your own Heart & Soul book which we are exited to have self published! That was a tough one but we did it!!! Shout out to our Younity Team. You guys have gone way and beyond to help spread the message we are so grateful;) love you guys!!!
Thanks to all who believe in YOUNITY and continue to support our community. Spread the love, spread the word…

The We B*Girlz Festival is a multimedia Festival by women for women celebrating the 4 elements of Hip Hop and more. We B*Girlz wants to present a strong role model for adolescent girls. We B*Girlz Productionz wants to show that women mastered skills in all aspects of Hip Hop and have earned a place in Hip Hop history. We will celebrate their creativity with a one month festival in August 2008 in Berlin. Our intention is to provide a platform for girls and young women from different nations and cultural backgrounds to make contacts, exchange ideas, and support each other. We want to teach them new skills, strengthen their confidence and show them the accomplishments of women in all aspects of Hip Hop culture. Within 4 weeks in August 2008, the We B*Girlz Festival will provide the girls with tools to be creative in the different aspects of Hip Hop culture, and will also teach them how to document their own culture through workshops in video editing, photography, and web design etc. During the 4 weeks in August, we will not only have lots of workshops, but also exhibitions, concerts, club nights, a filmfestival etc. We will produce a compilation with female artists, a magazine and a DVD. SKIN-IT!
So yeah…I worked on this $ gig for T-Mobile last night in the Lower (LES). I never expected this sort of event to be dead center in our peoples hood. Puerto Rican flags in the summer breeze, a bunch of triple X T’s drying on the firescapes, and mami’s plants blooming with flowers. Then again all them condos are creeping in everywhere you look making it feel “cool” to host this type of establishment on this side of town. Sigh…New York an ever changing landscape. So anyway, I didn’t really know what to expect, I was just ready to throw down, collect my dough, and call it a night. I get there and I was like WORD! set up was tight. I dig professionalism, that’s corporate $ for ya. Damn the food was off the hook! shumai, noodle soups, spring rolls, dumplings, yum! big ups to the caterers for hooking up my dinner for the evening. Peeps rolled thru, and got first dibs on all the free shit; food, drinks, sidekicks, custom skatedecks, Kidrobot Munny’s, T-Shirts, and a time to shine on the green screen. That was a lot of fun actually. Shout out the fellas who put on an excellent freestyle dance sequence just for fun. That shit was GREAT!!! Vee and I were rolling…Okay folks just felt like writing more than usual today. Here’s the T-Mobile / Skin-It! action in full effect…
Gotta save that loot for Berlin baby!
